Free, and staying that way
No sign-up, no paywall, no “unlock the full result” trick. Ads keep the lights on; the calculators stay open to everyone.
Calculate My Reno is a set of free material calculators for anyone doing the work themselves - a first tiling job, a deck, a bedroom that needs painting over the weekend. The kind of jobs where guessing the quantity means a second trip to the store, or a pile of leftovers you will never use.
Search for a tile or paint calculator and you will find plenty. Type in a couple of numbers and out pops an answer - but there is no formula, no allowance for how the tiles are laid, and no clue whether it rounded to a whole box or just gave you a decimal. You either trust it blindly or do the sum again by hand, which rather defeats the point.
We wanted the opposite: a tool that does the arithmetic an estimator would, then shows its working so you can see exactly where the number came from. Real wastage for the layout you are using, proper unit handling, and rounding up to the packs you actually buy. Get a number you can defend at the trade counter - not one you are crossing your fingers over.
No sign-up, no paywall, no “unlock the full result” trick. Ads keep the lights on; the calculators stay open to everyone.
These are buy-the-right-amount tools, not quote generators. We work out quantities - tiles, paint, boards, bags - and leave the pricing to your local supplier.
A number you cannot check is a number you cannot trust. Every tool publishes its formula and a worked example so you can follow the maths yourself.
Spelling, units and the bits people order differently change from country to country, so the site does too. Pick your region and the calculators default to the units you measure in and the words you use - “metre” or “meter”, tins or cans, plasterboard or drywall. Switch any time from the foot of the page.
